Fade

Definition:

The FADE is a float in which the kite is positioned belly up, nose toward the pilot, with the lines extending towards the pilot over the leading edge. The method of entry and exit does not matter. The kite is held in that steady position for at least 2 seconds.

Key elements:

Clean entry and decisive exit. Stability (no pronounced tilt or wobble). Held for minimum two seconds. 5 seconds for ExCELLENT score.

Judges view:

Kite should be on the same spot all the time the Fade is held. Stability! The pilot has to end the Fade, not the kite that drops out of the position.

Most common errors:

Sliding sideways when initiated away from the center of the wind window. Dropping out of the Fade.
